Continuing his march, he ventured further west of the Indus River and engaged in a significant battle with King Porus at the Hydaspes River in 326 BC. However, despite his military prowess, Alexander’s campaign in India faced a major setback when his exhausted and homesick army refused to proceed. Consequently, in 326 BC, Alexander was compelled to abandon his conquest of India and embark on the journey back to his homeland.
